50 Best Female Website Designers

This website adds a new perspective to the best websites. Some of them are fairly feminine, but some of the designs are more universal.

Other Good Websites

This is another company that compiles the best websites, in their opinion. Again, this is what I like to see, purely for the creativity that comes from people.

50 CSS website designs

This website is from Smash Magazine and features the 50 best CSS website designs. I like looking at other websites for inspiration. I like to see other areas of creativity that vary from mine. This enables me to think beyond my regular inspirations and it pushes me to do better.

http://www.smirnoff.com/

Exploit the propaganda-like advertisements of Smirnoff. Reveal more raw truths to alcohol use/abuse as opposed to the candy-coated everyon'e-hip-and-cool view they give. Redesign ads with crude images of the other side of parties (puking, hangovers, the morning after the party, fighting, drunk driving, underage drinking, rape).

Make a parodic news site satirizing the current state of the US and the things that are going on with the government and in the public. (Similar to The Onion.)

http://www.accesshollywood.com/

Satirize a "hollywood news" website like Access Hollywood over the pettiness of their topics and long-winded never-ending coverage on "scandals" and affairs.

Wife Swap
I was inspired by this article about a previous episode of Wife Swap. The teenager that appeared on the show is suing ABC for "making her look like a spoiled brat". She claims ABC spoiled her reputation so she is suing them for $100 million. I think the things that people sue companies for is just ridiculous, there is so much better things our country can do with that money instead of using it for settlements like that. I want to make a attorney website that claims they will help people who were "wronged", but really it will just show clients who sued for things you would never be able to get away with.

I find it morally wrong that science has gone so far these days that parents can now pick and choose which traits their unborn children can have. Has our world really become so obsessed with being perfect that we need to control our children before they are even born? I think it would be amusing to make a designer baby website. Kind of like one of those make over websites where you can choose hairstyles, eye color, clothing, etc. and then see your "model", except you can do all that to create your baby.

It seems like our soceity has become obsessed with vampires. Since Twilight, vampires have been popping up everywhere, different tv series, they even appear on some medical tv shows. Maybe make a website saying vampires are real, showing "proof" of them in the real world, fake witness accounts, maybe even claims to have ben bitten by a vampire, that sort of thing.

Spoof

http://www.riceboypage.com/

A peeve of mine, as a mechanic and car enthusiast is "riced" or "ricer" cars. These are defined and easily noticed as cars with too many accessories, stickers and ridiculous modifications that often provide no real performance or aesthetic advantage. So as a spoof or parody I think a site that emphasized the over use of "ricer" ideas would be funny. Some people would even find it as serious b/c just from experience there are more then enough people out there that think their cars look good. These websites are two that are Anti-ricer "dedicated" to letting people know there is ridiculous cars out there. The one website is a real website dedicated to showing well designed, not riced, cars. I would probly base my webpage on the Super street site. make it dedicated to making ricer cars and making them look ridiculous

3 Media Example

Online Dating
Instead of making an online dating site, i was going to make a website about breaking up bad relationships but have it look like a happy thing. Or maybe online dating for dogs or something.

Victoria's Secret
Every girl wishes they looked like a Victoria secret model, so i was thinking of making a website for Victoria's secret where the models were not something you wanted to look like.

Online Restaurant
A website that you can actually order food online as if you were sitting in the restaurant would be ironic seeing as you cannot get the food out of your computer. Basically an online restaurant that can only lead to disappointment.

Sport Scandals Spoofs

I've always been exposed to all the sport scandals shown on news channels, sport channels, and gossip channels as well. And to be honest I am not even a huge sport fan, I may watch a few games here and there but not enough to keep track of every player. However, when a scandal is revealed and it has to do with a super popular sports athlete then all hell breaks loose.

http://www.sportalicious.com/

And there is a huge list of sport scandals and things not to do if any of these famous names ever were idols for fans of all ages. There is Tonya Harding, Oj Simpson, Tiger Woods, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, and more! And most people will either know these names for 2 reasons, because they were really good at what sport they played or because the scandal they were involved in was really juicy.

http://sports.gunaxin.com/te-of-the-biggest-sports-scandals/19904

So I want to base my site around famous athletes that have gotten caught at doing something or someone they shouldnt of been doing. And I want to make fun of them to no extent and take no consideration in offending anyone because there will be plenty of offended people in this spoof site. But, sometimes that is what will make a good laugh is at anothers expense. And I want to show how the media effects the scandal by interfering in a person's personal affairs just because they are famous.

http://realfakesports.com/
http://www.buildabear.com/

this would be an amusing kind of thing. maybe more on the stocker side of life. Buildahuman possibly.

http://www.bk.com/en/us/index.html

burgerking delivery service almost like how dominoes has it to do delivery.
it's a joke but you can only pick certian items on the list and there must be a certian amount that you need to spend to have it delivered.

http://www.frenchconnection.com/

i like the clothes brand but find it very funny with the whole FCUK and they have this clothing line for children as well. They also while i was in the store have it for all sizes but when i went to go buy it they had a lot of smalls and xl, and xxl's left.

Spoof Site

I was inspired by a friend of mine who paid over $300 a ticket to go see Britney Spears, which I though was ridiculous because she doesn't even sing. So I thought a spoof advertising "concerts" with "singers" such as Britney Spears, Ashlee Simpson, Milli Vanilli and other instances of lip-syning. But I also thought about spoofing Britney Spears and all her "problems."

Spoof Site

I thought about spoofing technology as a substitute for human interaction. With email, texting, and chatting, there is no need for face-to-face interaction. Everything is affected by technology, even the English language has been affected by technology, such as the texting language. So I thought an advertisement for a email, text, facebook, and chat package advertising no human interaction. I found it a little bit harder to come up with 10 pages for this site, so I decided to go with something else.

Spoof Site

I think television shows have gotten ridiculous and the way pop culture has accepted these shows is even worse. Jersey Shore is just awful. I can accept that they are just young people who are having fun, and don't really know any better, but if a person from another country sees this show, they might believe this is the American lifestyle. So I thought a "guidebook to American life" would be a funny way to spoof the show.

Three idea

Mac
thesedays, the technology become more and more smaller, yes People likes small technology. Mac made a lot of small technologies for example ipot, iphone, and ipad. I also have a iphone, but actually, I have no idea why people like such a small phone without keyboad. I do not think my fingure is bigger than other people, but I still difficult to type when I use iphone, becuase the keyboad is inside of the screen.

Forever21, American Apparel
Both of the clothing stores are very famous. Not only in the United States, but also we can buy these clothe in the world. I like the price nd a wide assortment of items. Of course it is cheap than anyother clothing store. But I can not wearing a long time, especially Forever21. the material is easy to broken and loss of color.

Parody - Tough Decision

As I began to consider possible sources for this project, I realized that there is so much I would love to ridicule but few that are logistically probable considering the medium. Some topics would be better criticized as a video while others as posters or advertisements. But here is a list of topics or sources I considered followed by my tentative decision.

Scientology
http://www.scientology.org
Hail Xenu! These people are beyond belief. I mean, they know it's a joke right? Do us all a favor and take a one way ticket to jupiter on one of those fancy galactic DC-8s. L Ron Hubbard was a pedophile, I think that's enough said.

Religious Homophobics
http://www.godhatesfags.com
Wow. This must be seen to be believed. The words inflammatory and vile come to mind. My personal reaction is similar to what I would feel seeing a Neo-Nazi or other extremist or hatred based website.

PETA
http://www.peta.org
Extremists. I am in support of stopping animal violence, and these people make everyone look bad. Sure they look caring on the surface but that nutcase Ingrid Nelson is borderline terrorist. PETA has funded and trained people to firebomb and otherwise act violently to various ends. Not only that but they have been proven to kill most of the adoptable animals they claim they are saving. They have a freezer in their headquarters to keep the bodies! http://www.petakillsanimals.com

NASA
http://www.nasa.gov
I love space. I greatly respect astronauts and as a kid there was a time where I wanted to be one. But NASA in the past few decades has ultimately become a workhorse commissioned by the government. The military and government agencies commission NASA regularly to create their modules or weapons of war. Obviously not all their projects are malignant, but let's face it they're not exactly making huge strides towards revolutionary changes. The possibility of mining asteroids for incredible amounts of resources has been one of the many goals of furthering space exploration, and yet NASA doesn't even consider this as a possibility...yet they want to colonize Mars. They are highly misguided and have sadly fallen short of many people's expectations. I don't think that anyone expected that we'd be sending manned missions out beyond the stars by now, but in 40 years the best we've done in getting rich amounts of new data is sending two robots to Mars and now one is stuck. While this feat is very exciting and has proven beneficial in a few ways, in the grand scheme of things it really hasn't done much for us here on Earth, and one of the purposes of space exploration is to also help propagate and develop new ideas on Earth.

Anti-Evolution
http://www.creationist.net
There's not much to say to this nonsense except that it's laughable at best and no one important believes it right? EHH. Two words. President Bush. That's sad.

Bill O'Reilly
http://www.billoreilly.com
I'm sorry if anyone likes him. I'm not a democrat, I'm not a republican, I make my own decisions based on what is true or right. This guy makes angry irrational judgements based on his own arbitrary indoctrinations. He's far too angry and aggressive as well as downright disrespectful of anyone he doesn't understand. He's not always wrong, but he is inflammatory.

Glenn Beck
http://www.glennbeck.com
I have basically the same opinion of Glenn Beck as I do Bill O'Reilly. Glenn is like O'Reilly Lite, with just a pinch of crazy instead of hotheaded anger.

My decision was to tentatively go with a site mocking Bill O'Reilly, or Glenn Beck, possibly and what I thought might work better is to do a mashup of the two, sort of a mock team-up and then ridicule them viciously. I'm guessing that with all the sound bites and videos on the net as well as quotes and merchandise there will be no lack of content, and since they humiliate themselves on a daily basis on television there is always new content to mock.

Spoof Ideas

Recalls:
Companies have found ways to continue selling items that should have been recalled because it would cost too much and destroy their reputation. The government does not have enough regulations and control over see that people's safety is the priority. Toyota's recall was due to a US's plant incorrectly making the part. All of the cars that were made in Japan weren't put on the recall list. I feel strongly that independent companies are not something to be trusted because they are out to make a profit. The only way we can ensure we are safe is to have more AND proper government regulation.

Facebook:
Every time I walk into a computer lab I am surrounded by people surfing through facebook and staring down photos of people and their crazy/ slutty weekend like it's the air they breathe. I will admit I was a victim to this obsession when I first discovered facebook. The only reason I still keep facebook now is to ensure I can contact fellow students easily for advice on projects or assignments. I find that facebook takes up way too much valuable time. Most people can spend hours upon hours on this thing just looking at other people's photos, which seems strange and stalker like behavior.

Fox News:
Fox news has been known to report their stories on the conservative side. They choose to not make it known to the public that the news they report is not fully news but opinions based news. I chose to use this as my website because I feel that people should be given the right to get their news without any bias and make opinions for themselves.

Spoof Ads

The three major spoofs I wanted to do is: Wal-Mart, Windows(software), and Myspace.

Wal-Mart:

Wal-Mart is one of the biggest industries in the world and I hate everything they stand for. They really do have some of the lowest prices out there, on everything! That is their main down fall as well. Americans are becoming so lazy that they can just go to one store and get what ever they want now. It is companies like this that are influencing Americans into thinking it s ok to be lazy and over weight. I went into my Wal-Mart at home and there was a heavier women going to get one of those scooter to ride around in rather than to walk to get the tons of food she is going to buy. With her was her eight-year-old daughter, who was over weight as well. As her mother went and got a scooter her daughter was mad at her. So her mom told her daughter to grab a scooter as well and ride around in too. And that isn’t the biggest thing wrong with Wal-Mart. Small towns are being destroyed because of the rates and everything Wal-Mart can provide. Sooner or later their well be in small towns left, something needs to be down to set some sort of limit on these major industries that are slowly talking over.

Windows:

I am a Mac user and have been since I can remember. Windows is a major company that just makes me laugh. They have been making the same mistakes over and over again it has been pretty funny to watch. Windows started out how much better than they are than Mac’s. How better, faster and bigger they are, only their speed quickly back fired and computers stopped working. Then they came out with some sort of solid product, only to quickly go out and try to make a bigger and better thing like Vista. And yet again crash and burn it did. Finally they do something right with the brand new Windows 7, they I was on for a couple of minutes and it was like I knew this software from somewhere before. That’s right the new windows 7 took many cool looking features from Macintosh and but them to their own use. So thank you Windows for proving Apples is and will always be better.

Myspace:

Mypace is the biggest load of shit out there. If I can go on and become a stalker and have everyone be ok with it is just the worst I have ever heard. To me the people on Myspace are worse. Most of the people on it are just asking for something to go wrong, or for someone to do something so I am pretty sure that this whole this is just one big epic fail that should just cut their loses and try again.

Alice in Wonderland

I watched the Alice in Wonderland 3D in NYC. It was much interesting than I thought. Even I went to the movie at 10 PM, but the movie theater was full beyound capacity. I like how Tim combine the people with computer graphics. It indicate very well as 3D. Especially the red queen, I can not believe she is a real person, because she just like a character in the story. Also I like the landscape. 3D made more realistic, such as I am also in the screen. The English in this story is different than American English, so sometimes I could not understand. If I have a chance, I want to go again. I really like the end!!

AIW3D

I've always been interested in iterations of alice in wonderland, and there have been quite a few; some of them are dark and suspenseful and others are happy and disney-fied so to speak. The story itself is nearly 200 years old and its intriguing how the basic story is still so popular and how much it has changed. Dodgson, the author, was a mathemetician and included in the story many mathematical principles, as well as philosophical ideas. A full explanation of the story, its history and symbolism and various media adaptations can be found here:
Alice

On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give this and 8.5. The production value is massive, and I definitely agreed with the choices in casting. I'm not a huge fan of Johnny Depp but he is very dynamic. It seemed to me that this version was slightly focused on Alice and Hatter's romance though, which kind of seemed like a mechanic to appeal to a larger audience though it did fit within the context of the story. The effects are indisputably amazing, anyone who says it seemed fake is obviously not appreciative of the kind of work that goes into making it seem even 50% realistic. I believe that in order to experience the movie fully everyone should see this in 3D though, it just adds that WoW factor. On the other hand though I believe that this and Avatar have had something of an impact in the trend of 3D cinema, who knows where it will end up but I definitely enjoyed the experience, and that in itself justifies the ticket price. Generally I end up paying 9-15$ for a ticket at the theaters and thats without 3D. If every movie were able to be made in 3D, or at least the viable ones, I would go to the movies all the time.

Alice in Wonderland

I thought Alice in Wonderland was a great movie. I was expecting the 3D aspects to be a bit more noticeable, how ever I still enjoyed it. I loved all the attention to detail that was seen throughout the movie. Like the Queen's army for example, how their armor looked like playing cards, and how mostly everything in the Queen's castle was shaped like hearts. I have never seen the original Alice in Wonderland but I think I would've liked this one better either way. The special effects that were used made it so interesting, how nothing was actual life sized and the perspective of certain scenes was so different because of the 3D. I thought that this movie seemed more violent then I imagined the original Alice in Wonderland to be, I don't think it was too appropriate for small children. However I did very much enjoy the movie.

Alice in Wonderland

The movie was what I expected as far as digital effects and 3D animation. I liked some of what Tim Burton did to the story line and certain things I believe could have been done different.
My history on the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a little rusty but I enjoyed the new opening scenes. Alice's fall down the rabbit hole was one of the memorable scenes for me. the 3D aspect and the general disorienting view the audience was shown added to the appeal. I also enjoyed the slightly adult humor interjected into the movie. The graphic design elements were so well executed the landscapes and settings were beyond belief.
I thought that some things were lacking. I guess I expected more creative characters from Tim Burton. The the Red Queens army was armored cards that were orange. The White Queens army was just chess piece heads. The dragon I felt like I had just seen it in another movie preview. There was aspects of comedy, adult action and disney style children's characters, but none of which felt done all the way. The movie seemed to flip flop from kids to adults to somewhere in between, and I do not think it was smooth enough. I think Tim Burton should have gone completely adult humor, trippy and explored more of the old, harsher, concepts of the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, or he should have gone further towards a kids, fun, 3D animated movie. The movie just teetered between the 2 and I believe it hurt the overall appeal of the movie. Young kids are going to leave with a million questions, and adults are going to leave wanting it to have had more of whatever the "wow" factor was for them.

Defiantly worth seeing, the 3D aspects made it worth the price of admission and the plot was enjoyable.

Alice in Wonderland Review

Alice in Wonderland is an mind blowing movie that seems like it should be made for young adults but in the end really seemed like maybe it was made for kids and their parents. The movie starts off in the real world of Alice growing up. Showing her as a child having nightmares of strange creatures. Then they show Alice a little older taking place in a family get together where they briefly show a few characters of the real world. Later in the movie when Alice entered her dream world everything was 90 percent digitally computerized. The only few elements that were real time non computerized were the actors. Which there were probably 5 real life actors once you get into Alice’s dream world.

The thing about this movie was that is was too predictable and there was nothing really clever about it. If the director did a re-make of the movie you would think he had some rights to change up the story just a bit but not too much to throw anyone off. I wanted the movie to make my brain think and ponder, give some explanation on Alice’s “dreams” and how she really got into a fantasy world. Did she bump her head, go crazy, take some mushrooms, or was she really in another dimension that was real? And the movie could have gone deeper into the other characters a bit more rather then given the audience the assumption of who they are. Of course most people know about the story Alice in Wonderland and have seen different variations in books and cartoons. But, this was a chance to make it totally different, something more dark, more appealing to the mature crowd. But, it was like on the edge of this concept but not enough.

I think perhaps watching Avatar and then watching this, my eyes are already spoiled rotten to the latest and greatest special effects. I wish maybe they could have blended the lighting better in this movie to not make it seem so green screened. Or maybe a change in the lighting and color scheme. The movie was too short and just a pack full of adventure and typical predictable story line with nothing new to add into the story. Leaving us with a awkward ending of Alice having an epiphany after her hallucination. There is no real moral to the story as most fairy tales have them, except stay away from drugs kids.

Typography

I think that this is an awesome example of typography. I love how the designer worked the graphics into the text so it almost looks like part of the font.

Pomme Chan

This image was created for MTV by Pomme Chan. I found her work on CommArts website. Her work stuck out to me because of the dynamic colors and contrast used. All of her work has a very trippy feel to it. She in corporates vectors and photo's and makes them flow together nicely. She work is very visually and astheticly pleasing to me.
